Global markets experienced turbulence last week as Donald Trump’s tariff plans continued to generate uncertainty. US stocks saw a negative return, and Japan’s Nikkei 225 Index also declined. Persistent inflation in the US, reflected in the core PCE price index, added to market anxieties. The Bank of Japan expressed concerns about the impact of US tariffs on the global economy and monetary policy, while China pledged to defend its interests in response to the tariffs.
